What you’ll do…
Manager, Sam’s Club Transportation
Supply Chain at Sam’s Club is all about making and executing plans that help provide our Members with the products they want, where they want them, at the best price possible. To accomplish this, associates must be keen problem solvers, using data and experience to overcome complex challenges and drive efficiency. We’re currently looking for a Manager, Sam’s Club Transportation
You’ll make an impact by
Managing freight distribution operations: you’ll manage freight carrier operational performance, oversee distribution quality control, manage performance exceptions (i.e., late deliveries, damages etc.) and key performance indicators (KPIs), while initiating corrective action and developing policies and procedures
Collaborating with cross functional teams: you’ll work cross functionally with groups such as Merchandising, Replenishment and Logistics to manage logistics projects by developing timelines, overseeing the completion of tasks and deliverables and creating business solutions that lower cost
Providing Logistics decision support: you’ll provide decision support by sourcing, organizing, analyzing, interpreting data, and providing insight on current and future transportation trends
Design and implement transportation business solutions; you’ll partner and work with key stakeholders to develop new innovations and tools for carrier network capacity planning and management
Build recommendations for strategic initiatives: you’ll assist in evaluating strategic direction for distribution operations by benchmarking performance with other divisions and industry trends
You’ll sweep us off our feet if
You’ve managed 3rd party supply chain vendor relationships, preferably with logistics carriers
You’re highly analytical, eager to jump into data, problem solve and provide insights to improve business performance and reduce costs
You have an ownership mentality and are willing to push the status-quo to uncover efficiencies and drive change
You have advanced Excel skills, with some knowledge of SQL

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management (e.g., Logistics, Transportation) or related field and 2 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management or related field OR 4 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management or related field. 1 year’s experience with word and database applications (e.g., MS-Office, Word, Excel).
