Position will assist the Animal and Natural Resources (ANR) and 4-H Positive Youth Development program areas.
The 4-H/ANR Program Educator will assist the ANR Agent with promotion and administration of ANR programs in Bath and Highland Counties.
The Program Educator assists the 4-H Positive Youth Development Agent in administering and promoting a comprehensive 4-H youth development program in the units, including but not limited to programming with youth as well as recruitment, training, and management of volunteers.
Incumbent will assist office staff and Extension Agents with general office duties, coverage, program registration, marketing and evaluation in both Bath and Highland offices as directed by the Unit Coordinator. Position is full-time and eligible for state benefits package.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent level of training and experience, knowledge and/or experience in working with children and adults in an educational setting. Possession of a valid driver’s license required. Ability to work independently and in collaboration with other professionals and volunteers. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to effectively multitask, adept at working in groups and with others, friendly, customer service oriented attitude, familiarity with standard computer software such as Microsoft Office programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate from accredited university/college with B.A. or B.S. degree; commensurable work experience preferably in animal sciences, agricultural education and/or general education coursework, youth development or related fields. Knowledge of Extension programs and/or 4-H Positive Youth Development desirable. Experience in education and managing volunteers desired.
