We are looking for a Technical Lead to join the Finance Tribe within our Enterprise Systems function in the Chief Operating Office (COO).Our Finance Tribe brings together colleagues from technology and the finance business area to deliver change across key technical applications. The core work of the Finance Tribe is about building and supporting a Finance systems architecture for a tier-one bank, and that delivers performance and efficiency benefits to all the Finance team, and to the wider organisation.The purpose of the Technology Lead role is to, together with the Business Lead assume joint accountability for the ownership, leadership, development and end to end delivery of the platforms.The Technology Lead will work closely with the Business Lead to shape the backlog of activity, prioritising results which are crucial to maintaining the solution whilst also taking accountability for achieving the Platform’s strategic and quarterly objectives and key results (OKRs).
What you’ll be doing • Supporting and maintaining VM’s strategic Finance, Regulatory and Treasury reporting and analytics platforms. Specific responsibilities include the maintenance, administration and development of these software solutions, capacity planning and fault diagnosis.• Provide support and guidance on your area of expertise.• Provide direction and leadership on all technical activities where there is impact/change on own area.• Ensure that complex Business, IT system and infrastructure changes are assured and successfully implemented, with no detrimental impact to normal business operation.• Be a key team player displaying outstanding behaviours and acting as a role model for your colleagues.• Lead technical discussions, when assessing impact of new initiatives, work requests and the support of existing services.• Support the Technical Area Lead in identifying emerging industry and technology trends, training needs and areas of risk.
We need you to have • Knowledge of relevant systems, frameworks and technologies• Understanding of large complex IT estates including system dependencies• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make recommendations for system changes as needed to resolve issues.• Communication and influencing skills to be able to effectively communicate complex requirements to colleagues with varying levels of technical knowledge and ensure requirements are delivered.• Ability to work independently and manage own time.• Ability to maintain good working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
We’d love it if you had, but not essential .• Prior experience in technical application management and support• Knowledge of Finance, Regulatory and Treasury reporting and analytics platforms• Experience of handling live service and leading incident management responses to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
