GS-06: Applicants must have (1) One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05 level.
GS-06: There is no substitution of education for this position.
Examples of specialized experience include: Work conducting cultural resource surveys of areas designated for ground-disrupting activities such as timber sale harvests or road building; Work performing a variety of computations and assessments of standard archeological data including completing archeological site forms and survey reports. Researching library and archival information such as State and National register files, historic documents, archeological reports, maps and photos regarding archeological project areas.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
