Summary
This position is located at Whiteriver Hospital with the incumbent serving as Chief of Optometry. The purpose of the work is to improve the overall eye care health status of the population served. The work involves above average levels of optometry services and has substantial impact on the provision of improved health care to patients and allows them to lead a more productive and useful life due to better visual and ocular health.

• Independently diagnoses all optometric and ocular problems through external and internal physical evaluation of the eye and surrounding tissue.
• Refers patients requiring complex medical surgery or services to appropriate medical specialty.
• Provides vision and eye care education and counseling to patients.
• Takes complete history from the patient and/or family member to determine risk of eye disease. Records all patient care examinations, assessments, procedures and care plans.
• Supervises subordinates, develops and monitors the eye care budget, devises and implements projects.

Background Investigation:
If you are selected for this vacancy, you must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation.
