Responsibilities

• Working collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team, implements, and maintains a plan of organization, and recommends change to Executive Director.
• Maintains physician/practice relationships via effective communication to physician practice leadership and works with physician leadership to ensure the practices strategic short and long term plans are in concert with US Oncology’s plans.
• Develops, implements, and maintains a plan of organization, recommends change to Executive Leadership
• Directs the development and implementation of organizational procedures and controls, in collaboration with the Executive Director and the entire Executive Leadership Team, to promote communication and information flow within the organization. Ensures appropriate policies, procedures and objectives are actualized across the practice.
• Evaluates general and specific business conditions as they relate to operational issues and advises the governing body and the Executive Director on these matters.
• Advises and assists in developing organizational objectives and plans for their achievement.
• In collaboration with appropriate Network resources, oversees the development of systems (both manual and automated) to properly support practice-wide activities based upon business need. Supports the coordination of hardware and software requirements of existing and future systems.
• Directs the development and implementation of organization procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization.
• Ensures effective administrative staff coverage for the practice within budgetary guidelines.
• Monitors, analyze, assess, and communicate practice progress. Considers present and planned capacity. In financial terms, considers manpower and practice needs, including facilities and technology.
• Directs the preparation and maintenance of management reports necessary to carry out functions of the practice. Prepares periodic reports as necessary or required.
• Ensures compliance and adherence to the organization*s structure, management philosophy, and mission statements.
• Effectively partners with the Director, Clinical Practice to ensure clinical and non-clinical teams work in harmony to achieve shared goals and objectives.
• Oversees development and coordination of new office locations and their needs as required.
• Oversees the correct use of charge codes and education of all staff.
• Directs and develops the practice administrators/managers
• Helps support the activities of all radiation & imaging service staff.
• Coordinates the Operations Meetings
• Works closely with local network resources including but not limited to director of: Regional Business office; Research; Marketing; Pharmacy and Managed Care
• Responsible for developing an accurate capital, financial, and labor budget as well as adhering to the budget and managing expenses.
• Other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Nursing. Advanced degree in nursing, healthcare, or business field (MSN, MBA, or MHA) strongly preferred
• Minimum ten years of demonstrated experience in continuous improvement as a leader in healthcare management and operations, including at least eight (8) years in a senior managerial capacity with experience coaching, developing, and managing staff and delivering on results.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work may require minimal travel by air or automobile, approximately 50% of workweek.
