Job Summary:
The Academic Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day activities of the UW-Madison Teacher Residency Program (TRP) project to ensure successful completion of project activities. The TRP Program Manager will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI as the project’s core Management Team. The Program Manager will plan and facilitate regular Team meetings and assist with planning of Advisory Board meetings. In consultation with the PIs, the Program Manager will oversee the program budgets, including projections, compliance, and reporting. The Program Manager will work with the PIs to make decisions related to short-, medium-, and long-term strategic planning and set management team meeting agendas. Additionally, the Program Manager will manage, analyze, and when necessary, assist in the development of organizational tools. The Program Manager will work with the Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education (RPSE) Student Services Coordinator to monitor applications, communicate with potential applicants about program requirements, and set up interviews for applicants. The Program Manager will also work with the Student Services Coordinator in the Department of RPSE to communicate admissions decisions and ensure that all residents accepted into the program have information about applying for the living stipends, and also understand and agree to the corresponding service agreement. The Program Manager will take primary responsibility for monitoring and tracking service agreements and plan an annual orientation for residents.
Once Residents are admitted, the Program Manager will monitor their field placements, track their mastery of state teacher standards, and ensure that residents have complied with licensing requirements. The Program Manager will also work closely with mentor teachers – organizing orientation, conducting needs assessments, and facilitating professional development and an ongoing Community of Practice (CoP). The Program Manager will work with the program evaluation team in ongoing assessment activities of all aspects of the program.
The Program Manager will collaborate with the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) partners to promote the TRP in the local community through advertising, social media, and informational meetings. The Program Manager will regularly visit partner high-need schools and assist with regular communications with principals, other MPS staff and mentor teachers to ensure smooth operation and institutionalization of the program. The Program Manager will work with UW-Madison College of Letters & Science advisors to recruit recent UW-Madison graduates as applicants, especially targeting STEM graduates.
The Program Manager will establish systems for ongoing communication with MPS, high-need schools, local community partners, and the UW-Madison internal community.

Education:
Required
Master’s Degree with focus in Special Education or related field.
Preferred
PhD with focus in Special Education or Teacher Preparation.
Qualifications:
*Prior experience with program management;
*Familiarity with the application process and requirements for obtaining a Master’s Degree in Special Education at UW-Madison;
*Experience communicating with varied education stakeholders including principals, teachers, superintendents;
*Experience with providing professional development.
Work Type:
Full or Part Time: 20% – 100%
This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
