Department Summary
The School of Education prepares students for careers in education and prepares them to serve in linguistically and culturally diverse communities in the North Texas region and beyond. We strive to strengthen area school districts in the UNT-Dallas community with high quality teachers who will ultimately serve under resourced youth. The Teacher Education & Administrative Department at the University of North Texas Dallas is seeking to hire a Teacher Certification and Accountability Officer to join our team.
This full-time staff position will be responsible for maintaining infrastructure needed to retain the accreditation of all Texas educator certification programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field and four years of professional related experience (Texas College of Education in the capacity of certification officer, certification specialist, testing compliance officer, student teacher or field experience coordinator, or advisor); or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Driving University Vehicle: No

Job Duties
Maintain the infrastructure needed to retain the accreditation of all Texas educator certification programs
Identify and track candidates admitted to teacher education, principal and counselor education programs in accordance with state legislative requirements ( i.e. SB 174 and all TEA, SBEC, Title II, SACs, and THECB requirements)
Keep abreast of all changes in programmatic and legislative requirements and advise academic administrators as appropriate
Monitor student test preparation, maintain certification testing approvals, and manage the state testing program
Maintain files related to program assessment reports
Compile and complete the program completer reporting and coding
Update and maintain handbooks and policy manuals
Serve as manager for departmental web pages
Participate in advising of undergraduate Education majors
