The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
The CDD Early Childhood Learning Network (ECLN) provides interdisciplinary training and individualized coaching and consultation statewide to a variety of early childhood programs and practitioners that provide services for young children pre-natal to age five and their families.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Training Specialist who is timely, responsive, and can work with a diverse staff and constituents with various learning styles and who come from varying education and discipline backgrounds. This individual with be providing support to both on-site and off-site staff working out of home offices as well as providing support to statewide constituents navigating and accessing ECLN courses, listservs, and resources.
This individual needs to be highly organized and skilled in technology and software systems and in training end users in technology/software. They will develop and implement instructional aids and training modules, online courses, and resources, and provide training opportunities for staff and constituents.
ECLN’s coaching and consultation programs generate data for reporting to funders and to the Association of University Centers on Disabilities’ (ACUD’s) national NIRS database year-round on the scope of work activities that include statewide conferences, regional and on-site training, day-long meetings, webinars, online training, and other events utilizing distance technology for participation. This Training Specialist will effectively coordinate and organize data collection for all ECLN programs and will format, edit, and publish associated reports.
This individual will oversee database projects including: mailing lists, registrations, resource dissemination, staff information, and NIRS data.
The Training Specialist will develop online trainings and will provide first-level technical support to content developers and end users. Ability to perform web site design and maintenance, and high-level software skills for general problem solving and for continuous process improvement for division operations are strongly desired. This individual will research and recommend hardware and software solutions as needed.
They will be able to design and publish graphic materials such as newsletters, directories, brochures, flyers, etc. using applicable software including MS Publisher, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign. Additionally, this individual will support the development of internal policies, procedures, and guidance for division operations.
The Training Specialist will lead activities for other lower-grade staff and students.
Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral and written) are a must. Experience providing top-notch data management and associated reports, supervisory experience, flexibility, customer service, growth mindset, continuous quality improvement, and a high comfort level with ambiguity and shifting priorities are essential for this position.

Successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
