Course Description
Fundamental principles of solid and structural mechanics and their application in engineering disciplines. Covered: concepts of stress and strain, stress and strain transformations, axial, torsion, bending and combined loading and elastic deformations.
Responsibilities*
Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks one applicant to teach CEE 212, in Winter term 2024 (January 1, – April 30, 2024). The class is scheduled to meet in-person Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 9:30am-10:30am, Rm 2147 GG Brown. The position will be 0.30 FTE (30% effort) and requires the lecturer be responsible for teaching students the subject titled Solid and Structural Mechanics .
Required Qualifications*
A master’s degree, or equivalent education and experience, in Civil Engineering is required. PhD in Civil Engineering is preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experience and knowledge of the university policies and procedures.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
