JOB DESCRIPTION
The
University of Dallas invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank. Primary teaching
responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in early literacy, children’s literature, elementary literacy, linguistics
and ESL methods, as well as preparing students to pass the Texas Science of Teaching Reading (STR) Exam, and supervising pre‐service
teachers in classroom settings. The University of Dallas serves the needs of undergraduate and graduate students who aim to teach. To
advance these goals, the Department of Education and Classical Learning is searching for an outstanding educator with enthusiasm,
leadership, and vision.
Because the Department of Education and Classical Learning aims to prepare students for teaching and
leadership in public, Catholic, and classical schools, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship,
and service; have an active scholarly agenda; deliver courses in online, blended, and traditional settings at the undergraduate and graduate
levels; and complement and support the University’s mission and liberal arts core curriculum, demonstrating strong communication and
leadership skills.
Start date is August 21, 2024
