The Export Control Analyst (Compliance and Regulatory Affairs Pro III) position assists in the day-to-day operation and implementation of the University’s export control compliance program’s policies and procedures. Analyze project-related activities, agreements, documents, and technical parameters related to an activity, product, technology, or document for export control determination. Prepare and execute export control license applications and other authorizations that the institution needs for conducting its activities. Engage with faculty, staff, students, and units/departments across campus to achieve a proactive export compliance culture. The University of Arizona’s Export Control Program is a flexible and strategic team that addresses all aspects of export control compliance affecting university stakeholders. The team works with units across campus to support University compliance with U.S. export controls laws and regulations. The Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) govern the shipment or transfer of export-controlled items (e.g., technical data, software, materials, and equipment) outside the U.S. and access to certain export-controlled items to non-U.S. Persons within the U.S. In addition, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations impose sanctions and embargoes on transactions or exchanges with designated countries, entities, and individuals. The export regulations are in place to protect U.S. economic vitality, foreign policy interests, and national security. Export Control is also recruiting for an Assistant Director (Compliance & Regulatory Affairs Pro IV) via req14452, as well as an Export Control Coordinator, Senior (Compliance & Regulatory Affairs Pro III) via req16331.
