The Trailside Cafe is a brand new drive-thru Cafe located in Willow, Alaska, the mushing capital of the world. We offer to-go food only with outdoor seating next to dog sledding trails. Our menu includes delicious homemade sandwiches, salads, soups and more. Not to mention hand-scooped ice cream shakes, smoothies, and espresso! We are the perfect stop for travelers on the Parks Highway on their way to Talkeetna, Denali National Park, and Hatcher Pass. The Cafe is opening Memorial day weekend, May 26th and we would like staff to be trained prior to opening, starting dates will be between May 16th and 27th. We are also extremely dog friendly! Bring your pup to work and keep them in the shaded kennel on-site, so you can keep an eye on them from the cafe all day.
Our ideal candidate for the Trailside Cafe will, first and foremost, keep a positive attitude and thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Trailside Cafe prioritizes an upbeat atmosphere while working hard and multitasking. Every staff member will work in all cafe roles (barista/cook/cashier/food runner) and tips are shared between all staff.
We understand most seasonal workers are in Alaska to experience this beautiful state. We LOVE Alaska and we want you to adventure, explore, and enjoy your time here. We will happily accommodate time off with sufficient notice and we will help find a schedule that works for you, whether that be four, 10 hr shifts or one shift a week. If you are a good fit, we are happy to work with you. Willow is the perfect location for exploring the entire state of Alaska. We are right next door to Hatcher Pass with endless outdoor recreation options at your doorstep. Denali National Park is a few hours north and Anchorage, Girdwood, Seward, and Homer are all a few hours south. Living in the center of the state gives you the best chance to visit as much of Alaska as possible.
The Trailside Cafe is located at the Alaska Dog Center. We offer the opportunity to cross-train with our Sled Dog Kennel if you are interested in learning to mush and running dog tours. We will have Sled Dog Guide positions available for Winter 2022-2023 if you find your calling with our Sled Dogs.
We provide a shift meal and shift beverage for our employees and offer a 50% discount for employees when not working. All employees start at $12/hr and tips are shared between staff.
Housing is not provided, however, we are happy to help you find affordable housing in the area and have pet-friendly housing recommendations ready.
