Who We’re Looking For

Toyota’s ITx Parts Supply Chain logistics team is looking for a passionate and highly motivated IT technical application lead to drive development of new and optimize existing Global Parts Logistics systems to enable the North American Parts Supply Chain Vision of “Providing the rights parts to the right place at the right time.”

The primary responsibility of this role is leading a team of IT professionals in the development, modernization, enhancement, kaizen, and support of critical global parts logistics systems that are responsible for transporting over $35B in parts annually from 700 unique supplier destinations traveling over 600K miles daily to 10 vehicle plants, 3 engine plants, and 10 cross-docks across North America.

The Global Parts Logistics Consultant will act as Technical Product Owner and will be responsible for leading technical and strategic initiatives and ensure successful delivery of Information Technology projects and initiatives while adhering to Toyota standards / technology roadmaps.

Reporting to the Manager, Parts Supply Chain Logistics, the person in this role will lead the IT Parts Supply Chain’s goal of leading global parts logistics systems projects across North America.

What You’ll Be Doing

• –TMNA (Toyota Motor North America) Parts Logistics Transformation,

Synergies & Modernization:

• Supply Chain Systems Modernization: Lead the development and implementation of strategic projects to modernize, rearchitect, improve customer experience and retire logistics legacy systems to modern cloud platforms, architecture, and technology
• Service Parts Integration: Collaborate across business departments to prioritize integration and consolidation opportunities across manufacturing and sales service parts logistics operations
• Strategic Roadmap: Develop a 3-to-5-year roadmap for systems and processes to modernize and improve customer experiences for critical global parts logistics applications

• –Lead Global Parts Logistics IT Systems Operations:

Strategic planning and prioritization of resources, budgeting, and constant communication to sustain daily operations and support for key systems and functions that include:

• Logistics Route Planning
• Logistics Network Optimization and Cost Reductions
• Trailer Load Optimization (used globally)
• Part Packaging System
• Master Data Management
• Operations & Project KPI Management
• Plant Startups: lead requirements gathering, development, testing, and implementation of required global parts logistics systems. Recent examples include manufacturing plants such as TMMGT and MTMUS. Toyota Battery North Carolina (TBMNC) will be next opportunity

• –Cross Functional Collaboration:

• Lead collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation IT Division on critical initiatives and Kaizens in alignment with ITx technology and business direction for successful delivery with highest levels of customer satisfaction
• Lead collaboration with ITx platform teams to align on technology direction on infrastructure and server upgrades for global parts logistics applications
• Lead the team to continuously improve daily process through customer focus, problem solving, and Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology. Continuously raise the ITx standards for reliability and customer satisfaction

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, or Information Sciences, OR equivalent professional experience
• Strong experience with Cloud application development experience (AWS, Azure, Google)
• Experience Leading diverse teams in the development and support of applications and services
• Hands-on experience with Application development experience using Java, Angular, Spring boot, .Net, Mobile Applications, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Stone Branch Scheduler, API, Microservices
• Experience in leading new or modernizing legacy applications into AWS cloud using latest DevOps tools like Jenkins, Helm, JFrog etc.
• Capability to mentor, lead and drive development team for success
• Experience in prioritizing, problem solving and quick decision-making in a fast-paced environment
• Strong business and technical skills to build business solutions to best support business vision and strategy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to management
• Ability to work independently and successfully manage several projects simultaneously while balancing the workload and constraints of each

What you may bring

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar
• Prior experience in Parts supply chain or related supply chain background
• Cloud certification (AWS/Google/Azure)
• Scrum Master or Product Owner certification
