Thiel College Education Department Faculty Search
Thiel College Education department seeks a vibrant full-time,
tenure-track assistant professor to teach courses to undergraduate students in Special Education and Early Childhood Education beginning
August 2023. The primary responsibilities will include teaching, supervision of students in the field in a variety of academic disciplines,
participation in departmental and college-wide committee work, student recruitment and retention and student advisement.
Required Qualifications: Strong knowledge base and certification in Special Education and Early Childhood
Education/Elementary Education. A doctoral degree in Special Education and/or Early Childhood Education/Elementary Education is preferred.
Other preferred qualifications include research, teaching, and/or service. Experience in diverse settings, rural and/or urban schools, is
desired.
A dedicated passion for helping students reach their full potential in a supportive, inclusive and diverse environment is
essential to this position. Responsibilities include program leadership, teaching, advising, and professional development. The successful
candidate will possess the ability to teach courses with an applied focus that emphasizes experiential learning. Teaching
assignments may include foundational and upper-level courses within the Education Department curriculum and courses in the candidate’s
specialty area. The position would focus on undergraduate level teaching. While Thiel College gives highest priority to teaching
effectiveness, the professor will be expected to remain current in the field through professional development opportunities such as
attendance at related conferences, research, or other scholarly activities. A comprehensive employee benefit package including research
