Description
The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for the development and curation of content for social media channels managed by SXSW, LLC. This role is for an organized and creative individual who possesses a strong attention to detail, excellent copy writing skills, and is ready to tackle a wide range of content marketing challenges in a fast-paced and unique environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Organize social media assets for Content Marketing across various campaigns and promotional needs.
Assist in the creation and execution of social media campaigns including programming highlights across Conference; Film & TV, Music, and Comedy Festivals; attendee services; recaps; and more.
Assist in scheduling social media posts in Hootsuite and across native platforms.
Assist in tracking social media campaign engagement.
Help create and edit short-form videos for Instagram and TikTok.
Brainstorm and research ideas for social content per platform (i.e. promotional opportunities; trending topics or formats; audience insights).
Monitor and respond to community engagements and questions on social media channels.
On-Site Responsibilities
Curate content including photos, videos, and quotes from speakers, artists, and filmmakers in real time.
Create and publish content from daytime Conference sessions to nightly Festival and awards coverage.
Capture vertical video based on daily content directives for Instagram and TikTok in real time.
Create various materials via Photoshop including social media graphics and watermarking.
Help monitor SXSW social media accounts for community engagement and customer service needs.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications Include
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
Social media experience working at past festivals and/or publications is preferred.
Mastery in social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Basic knowledge of Hootsuite, Airtable, Google Drive, and Photoshop.
Basic knowledge social media analytics software including Hootsuite Analytics and Google Analytics.
Ability to work under pressure in a high stress environment.
Self-starter who can multitask and solve problems quickly and accurately.
Passion for social media, creativity is a must.
Physical Requirements
Frequently required to sit and/or stand for long periods, with or without accommodation. Manual dexterity is required for keyboard, computer, and office equipment use. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds. This position may require you to stay 10 days away from home during the event.
Work Location & Schedule
Position is full-time and located in Austin, Texas. Core business office hours are Mon-Fri, 10am
6pm. Must be available to work additional hours from January
March including evenings and weekends. Must be available for the duration of the March event; extended working hours onsite. This is a full-time, seasonal position that runs from October 2023 through March 29, 2024.
