Glenwood Highlights
The City of Glenwood is home to just over 5,000 friendly people in the Loess Hills of southwest Iowa. A small rural community with strong ties to the Council Bluffs and Omaha metropolitan area, Glenwood is a dynamic and welcoming place to live and work. The Loess Hills landform is an Iowa treasure that spans more than 1,080 square miles along the eastern edge of the Missouri River flood plain. This unique feature is up to 15 miles wide and 220 miles long. Bridging rural and metropolitan areas, the hills have something for everyone. Home of the Mills County Historical Museum, seven historical buildings with the largest display of Prehistoric Native American Artifacts in the state of Iowa are located here. Nearby you can find the Hillsdale Lily Garden with 159 lily varieties on an acre of land surrounded by a walking path. Glenwood is just 25 minutes from Omaha and about 2 hours from Des Moines.
