The Stanford Graduate School of
Education invites applications for a teaching faculty position with specialization in Brazilian or Latin American classroom teaching,
teacher education, curriculum development, or related fields in education to serve as the Lemann Foundation Scholar. The appointment will be
made as a non-tenure line Professor (Teaching), with rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) depending upon the candidate’s seniority
and experience. After an initial fixed term of five years, there is a possibility of renewal for an additional five-year term. Teaching
faculty are members of the School faculty and of the University Academic Council.
The successful candidate will play an integral
role in the GSE’s Lemann Center for Educational Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Brazil (https://lemanncenter.stanford.edu/), and will work with the Center’s students, alumni, and partners to support
improvement in Brazilian or Latin American education. We welcome applications from scholars of any nationality. Scholars should have a
strong academic record with clear relevance to the Lemann Center’s mission. The normal responsibilities for Professor (Teaching) include:
teaching classes (typically four courses during the three quarters of the regular academic year), working to develop curriculum, mentoring
and advising students, and involvement in the broader educational community. The ideal applicant for this position will have a strong
commitment to and demonstrated aptitude for teaching, as well as an established reputation and national visibility in Brazilian or Latin
American curriculum and teaching. Ph.D./Ed.D. or enrollment in a Ph.D./Ed.D. program with anticipated degree conferral by the time of
appointment is required.
