Job Summary and Qualifications
Responsible for billing claims per transplant network contracts. Responsible for entering claims in the global billing database under the appropriate phase of transplant, identifying if claims will be paid and posted to the facility GL or directly to the provider, and calculating appropriate reimbursement if claims are paid directly to the facility. Accountable for understanding and keeping current with transplant payor contracts and provider agreements. Responsible for Reconciling BMT, CAR-T, and other large dollar Rx accounts against revenue codes to ensure the more significant charges are captured before claims are released for the final bill.
Creates patient cases in the global billing database for new patients and updates patient data information (i.e., open case date, transplant date, discharge date, closed case date, etc.) as necessary.
Maintains global payor websites with any updates to patient information regarding a change in transplant phase based on the individual global payor agreement.
Researches claims to determine if they are transplant related or medical management. For transplant related claims, they must identify the appropriate phase of transplant. If medical management claims, they must either send to insurance and label as medical management or call provider and inform them they must bill directly to insurance depending on the contract.
Must enter and identify all claims in the global billing database as either a physician or a facility claims under the appropriate phase of transplant. Identify if claims are included or excluded in case rate to calculate appropriate reimbursement of claims.
In charge of submitting claims to the appropriate insurance company based on the process outlined in each transplant contract.
Works collaboratively with providers, insurance provider relations representative and the revenue cycle center to resolve any billing/claims related issues.
Responsible for understanding and keeping current with transplant contracts.
What qualifications you will need:
