Job Description: The Associate Technical Designer will work closely with the Head Technical Designer to execute on-trend collections with a superior fit. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented candidate to grow and learn in a dynamic, growing company.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with PD and Tech Design to create accurate tech packs
- Create and maintain seasonal tech packs from development to production
- Review and measure samples throughout the product cycles to ensure accurate execution of measurements, quality, and construction
- Collaborate with Tech Design to resolve fit and construction issues
- Compose detailed comments including fit photos and illustrations to convey corrections or revisions to vendors
- Update technical sketches in Illustrator
- Spec and organize samples for fittings and record fit comments
- Communicate to vendors throughout product sample stages to ensure brand’s aesthetic and quality
- Assist in tracking and recording receipt of samples
- Organize approved samples and patterns seasonally
- Maintain seasonal garment library archive
- Monitor and adhere to Tech Design calendar deadlines
Requirements:
- 2+ years’ work experience in the fitness / athleisure apparel industry, with a clear understanding of the product cycle process
- Basic knowledge of garment construction and knits / stretch fabrics
- Ability to follow directions and adaptability to work in a changing work environment
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task in a deadline orientated work environment
- Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication
- Detailed orientated with outstanding follow through
- Strong technical drawing skills
- Proficient in Adobe- Illustrator and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and with cross functional teams
- Flexible, positive “can do” attitude
