Director of Marketing Communications
Skai is a leading omnichannel marketing platform, working with advertisers to drive efficiency and effectiveness across performance media. With over 2000 clients and strong partnerships with strategic publishers, we are ready to elevate our customer and partner marketing efforts. We are seeking an experienced and versatile Director of Marketing Communications to join the team.
Role Summary:
Reporting directly into the VP of Marketing, we are looking for a Director of Marketing Communications to play a pivotal role in shaping the Skai brand and driving engagement across external touchpoints.
A versatile band storyteller and talented writer is a must as the successful hire will be responsible for conceiving and writing marketing copy across a variety of channels.
Managing our external social and PR agencies will be a crucial part of this role, however the position does not currently have any direct reports, so requires a proactive self-starter who is equally versed in both strategy and execution.
Responsibilities:
● Strategy: Take ownership over our communications strategy, aligning to our broader marketing and business objectives. Analyze market trends , competitor activities and consumer insights to enhance our external communications.
● Organic Social: Provide direction to our social media agency that continues to enhance Skai’s online presence in areas of strategic importance. Develop ideas for engaging content across various social platforms and manage day-to-day approvals of social media posts.
● Employee Advocay: Oversee the agency running our employee advocacy program on LinkedIn and support them in taking the program to the next level in 2024. Identify and work with internal brand ambassadors who can help to amplify Skai’s messaging from a position of thought leadership.
● Public Relations: Work closely with our PR agency to secure relevant press coverage, whilst developing your own relationships with key media outlets and industry influencers. Draft and edit press releases, articles, and other communication materials.
● Analyst Relations: Maximize our investment in Analyst Relations by establishing and maintaining relationships with key industry analysts, keeping them informed about the latest news, product developments, and company updates. Facilitate regular briefings to ensure analysts are well-informed on Skai’s direction and utilize them for inquiries in order to secure feedback on areas of strategic interest.
● Awards: Research and identify relevant industry awards and manage the submission process. Work with clients directly to submit joint case study entries.
● Advertising: Support with messaging, copywriting and creative ideas for our online advertising campaigns.
● New Launches: Lead communication efforts for new product launches, ensuring a cohesive and impactful strategy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop launch content, messaging and marketing deliverables.
Position Requirements:
● 7+ years of experience in brand marketing or communications; media trained is a plus
● Knowledge of the adtech industry, specifically retail media, is a significant advantage
● Experience in managing third party marketing agencies is preferred
● Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are a must
● Ability to work steadily and discern prioritization in a fast-paced environment
● Extremely organized and methodical, versed in project management and prioitizing against changing objectives
● Adapatable and versatile, multi-taking and context-switching across a variety of responsibilities and deliverables
● Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate it into action
● Attention to detail and self-driven; knows what to do, and gets it done
The annual salary range for this position is $125,000-135,000. The actual salary will vary depending on the applicants experience, skills and abilities as well as internal equity and market data. This position is also eligible for additional quarterly bonus compensation through one of Skai’s highly attractive incentive plans, full details will be provided during the recruitment process.
