We are seeking an experienced OR/PACU Registered Nurse to join our team in our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Fairfax, VA. The schedule is M-F 6a-2:30p or 6:30-3. Min 1-2 holidays per year
How You’ll Contribute:
We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the OR/PACU RN is responsible for:
Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, formulate patient care plans
Perform initial preoperative assessment, develops a plan of care, and explains the subsequent phases of surgery
Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed
Provide patient education
Rotate duties to include: scrub in for egg retrievals, provide ultrasound guidance for transfers, circulate in OR during sedated procedures, turn over OR between cases, prepare patient documents prior to procedure, prepare ASC schedule
Acting as charge nurse as assigned
What You’ll Bring:
The skills and education we need are:
Active RN license
Current BLS and ACLS certification
2-3 years clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU experience strongly preferred
Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
