General Description of Duties:
Work closely with carriers to schedule daily shipments pickups and deliveries in a timely manner and ensure accountability for contracted rates.
Lead import program and process, provide visibility and manage the import merchandise planning and deliveries.
Work with Allocation, Planning, and Vendors to develop optimal mode and routing for merchandise transportation from origin to Distribution Centers and stores, including import and domestic.
Manage, control and implement store to store transfer policies and optimize external product storage (Trailers, Containers, Warehouse space).
Experience with TMS functionalities and processes.
Build relationships with internal/external partners based on collaboration, transparency, and integrity.
Manage Carrier performance including OTP, OTD, and transportation cost of merchandise within company logistics network.
Prepare logistics KPI reports.
Participate logistics network optimization analysis as needed.
Focus on in-house research, reporting, and freight accountability.
Proactively collaborate with Store Operations team for process improvement, such as merchandise handling procedures and productivity.
Requirements:
3-4 years supply chain/transportation experience for a large retailer.
Inbound Freight Management experience (Ground, Rail, LTL, Imports/Exports).
Small Parcel, Ecommerce, and Home Delivery experience a plus.
Vendor Management – contracting, bidding and Service Level Management.
Proficient in Microsoft office suite as well as technology such as Transportation Management Systems,
Must exhibit strong data analysis capabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with cross function teams including Merchandise, Allocation, Planning, Store Operations etc.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of TMS, and carrier management experience.
A problem solver with the ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment.
Organized with strong attention to detail.
Motivated and demonstrated performance implementing new systems and procedures.
Proactive and a positive team player.
