What This Position Is All About: We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Analyst – Capital Accounting, who will support Capital Projects, Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting area of Saks Off 5th Controller organization, to ensure that these areas of Accounting operate effectively and efficiently and within the Company policy and guidelines. This role will report to Manager, Capital Accounting and will provide a tremendous opportunity for growth and interaction with employees and management across the company. You Have: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 4+ years of relevant operational accounting experience (e-commerce/retail experience preferred) Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA/CMA/CGA) preferred Experience with capital projects and fixed assets accounting Experience with lease accounting (ASC 842) Working knowledge of SOX Strong verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to build relationships with business partners across all levels of the organization Strong problem solving, priority setting, customer service, multi-tasking, analytical and communication skills. As The Senior Accounting Analyst, Capital Accounting you will: Create operational capital policies, procedures and other accounting documentation Create and document Sarbanes-Oxley controls for capital project accounting, fixed assets and leases Work with IT and other tech areas to review invoices and contracts, and ensure capital projects (e.g., internally developed software) are properly accounted for, in accordance with US GAAP requirements Ensure all fixed assets, capital projects and leasehold improvements are properly capitalized Prepare & maintain PP&E general ledger accounts and reconciliations Maintain/develop system that accurately tracks and calculates assets, depreciation, and book values, to comply with accounting and tax rules Perform calculations of lease accounting under ASC 842 Perform P&L and balance sheet analytics Assist with implementation of new ERP modules for Fixed Assets and Capital Accounting Your Life and Career at Saks OFF 5TH: Be part of an empowered, innovative team; work with an adventurous spirit and a customer-centric mindset; play a critical role in making decisions that will position us to win Exposure to rewarding career advancement opportunities across different functions within our corporate offices, retail stores, photo studios, and distribution centers A culture that promotes a flexible work environment Benefits package for all eligible full-time employees (including medical, dental and vision) An amazing employee discount and other exciting perks Thank you for your interest with Saks OFF 5TH.
