Collections Manager
The Museum is growing in the spirit of working to further the advancement and support of DEAI initiatives through the lens of its collection of over 36,000 objects. Born of these exciting initiatives are the additions of two key roles: “Collections Manager” & “Collections Fellow”. Together, these positions will work on collection accessibility, long-term care of collections, address inclusivity gaps in the information, and further document works by marginalized communities.
Talent sought for these key positions includes: Experience in collections management. Proven track-record of approaching work from a DEAI-focused frame of reference. Those that possess a passion for progress and visionary mindset in working towards equity and inclusion goals.
Summary: To ensure the proper care of the more than 35,000 objects in the Museum’s permanent collection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative
Collections Management
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and three years’ experience in museum collection management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Working knowledge of museum policies, practices, and procedures for collections care and storage including the legal and ethical aspects of museum collection management. Experience with collections databases and digital asset management systems. Understanding of fine arts packing, shipping, and insurance methods preferred; knowledge of art history helpful.
Minimum of Hiring Range : $69,303 annually
Status : Full-time, Benefits eligible on first day of employment.
