R & O Design Inc Looking for Senior Designer – Cut & Sew Casual Knit Tops at New York, New York Full Time

We are an established apparel manufacturer of women’s apparel across multiple categories. We are seeking a talented, hardworking and motivated Cut and Sew Casual Knit Tops Designer to join our growing team.

 Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design.
• At least 8+ years of design experience specializing in cut and sew knit tops. Experience in other knit categories is a bonus.
• Knowledge of wovens is a plus but not necessary.
• Must be highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet with strict deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
• Must be a team player and able to work autonomously.
• Must be neat, highly organized and detail oriented.
• Positive and upbeat.
• Articulate and polished professional attitude.

Job Description:

• Provide reliable and responsible support to the Design Director.
• Shop local markets to identify new trends, innovations and opportunities.
• Drive the creation of seasonal design concepts to final product.
• Must have experience in the build out of a balanced and well merchandised line.
• Source new fabrics and trims.
• Must be able to create detailed flat sketches and tech packs.
• Strict adherence to the development calendar.
• Ability to generate order CADS and make alterations in a timely manner.
• Communicate with overseas agents to ensure sample development is well-executed.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining the showroom.
• Participate in virtual and in-person showroom appointment with buyers.
• Participate in fit sessions.
• Review and approve lab-dips, print strike-offs bulk fabrics for bulk production.
• Day to day upkeep of filing and organization.
• Perform competitive shopping online or in-store.

Salary:

• $85,000.
