QVC Looking for Assistant Apparel Designer at West Chester, PA Full Time

The Opportunity

Discover a whole new world of apparel design with QVC! The Assistant Designer’s primary responsibility is to support the development process of private label product for QVC and HSN Proprietary / Collaboration Brands. This role will assist in interpreting the brands direction to design and source product for the target customer. This position will have responsibilities to support all aspects of the product design process including market research, sketching, materials, trims and color selection from concept through final approval. This position assists the Apparel Designer in preparing for product meetings, creating presentation boards, data entry, receiving and sending out packages, logging samples into FLEX PLM system and special projects as needed.

Your Impact

• Maintain awareness of seasonal trends and create presentation materials
• Prepare line and presentation materials for line reviews and buy meetings
• Supports Designer in developing seasonal color palettes
• Manage specific fabrics for the season, work with sourcing team to build library
• Assist in selecting styles, materials and colors that fit into the program and style plans
• Manage tech pack creation and in putting design details and sketches
• Maintain and update development documentation in FLEX PLM and support the design team through the design and sourcing process, capturing all changes
• Create flat sketches for designed apparel styles
• Review color approvals and material standard submits to maintain standard fabrics and ensure materials meet the intended design need
• Responsible to update cad line boards and maintain them for each season
• Create design development Package components in PLM System
• Create flat mechanical sketches for all styles for development packages (to technical design and overseas.)
• Assist in reviewing and approving proto samples
