The Compensation Analyst studies, analyzes and processes information related to the compensation of associates based on their positions and other compensable factors. The Analyst will interface with vendors, Human Resources, HR Systems, IT, and other internal departments. The Analyst will assist with the salary planning process, conduct job evaluations, create internal and external offers, complete ad hoc data analysis, assist in the preparation of compensation proposals; lead or participate in projects as assigned.
Proactively works with HR and International Regional Compensation Teams as a Business Partner providing a high level of service to resolve problems, discuss pending changes, salary recommendations based on internal and external data, job description evaluations and salary range adjustments for all locations
Coordinates data gathering for the ongoing needs of the department for all US & international demographics.
Completes job evaluations using Mercer IPE:
Ensure all positions have a description
Actively assists in data gathering, as needed for all locations
Provide guidance to HR on job descriptions to reflect appropriate title, essential functions, qualifications, and physical and environmental requirements
Ensures SOX compliance
Assists with the maintenance of the Job Description database
Perform regular audits of employee compensation to ensure regulatory compliance and internal equity across positions
Assists in the selection and participation of salary surveys:
Prepares and conducts compensation surveys
Conducts spot surveys
Analyzes results of surveys to determine their impact. Makes recommendations as necessary.
Participates in the administration of the Annual Salary Planning process
Regularly provide analysis to assess effectiveness and quality of compensation plans and programs. Generate reports, analyze data, summarize and present results as needed and ensure integrity of data and reporting methodologies
Assists in the development and documentation of procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Ensure accuracy of all job data contained in the HR system
Participates in compensation development/training activities
Stays abreast of trends and regulatory changes in the Compensation area
Assists Compensation Department as necessary
Completes projects as assigned
Internal projects may include market research, competitive intelligence, system/reporting enhancements, process improvements, and communications content
Experience: 2 to 4 years Compensation experience
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
CCP and/or PHR certification a plus
Skills:
Excellent analytical, project management, problem resolution and client service skills required
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal persuasion/communication skills
Exhibits good judgement and logical reasoning
Ability to work independently and effectively across teams and collaborate with others.
Ability to prioritize tasks and recognize when escalation is necessary
Must be organized
Understanding of FLSA regulations and experience evaluating jobs for exemption a plus
Ability to maintain an extremely high level of confidentiality
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously with adherence to deadlines
Self-motivated
Advanced skills in Excel, Word and Access
Knowledge of Workday a plus
