Job Description
An adjunct position is open in the Master’s in Education/ Literacy Program at Providence College. The open position is for EDU851: Teaching Writing K-12 and presents writing instruction from a Science of Reading/structured literacy perspective. The course will be offered in Summer II, 2024 (July 1 to August 2) and will meet in person 2 times per week on the Providence College campus.
The literacy program prepares teachers for certification as PK-12 reading specialists/literacy consultants. The open course, EDU851: Teaching Writing K-12, is in Strand II of the literacy program (Strand II: Applying Foundational Knowledge to K-12 Learners). Literacy candidates enrolled in this course complete a 10-hour field experience in their school and classroom before classes begin.

Education and Experience Required
A Master’s in Education is required for this position; reading specialist certification is preferred.
