Position: Social Worker Child & Adolescent Inpatient Hospital – Lgsw/Licsw – Sign On Bonus
The Social Worker, Inpatient, focuses primarily on treatment planning, coordination or care, and communication with patients, parents/legal guardians, community providers and others involved in the care of the patient. Frequently includes supporting emotional and education process related to treatment.
This opportunity is eligible for a $1,000.00 hiring bonus!
Responsibilities:
Responsible to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the psychosocial services for patients
Accountable to have knowledge and understanding of behavioral health practices and principles
Conduct group facilitation, psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, safety planning and discharge planning
Develop and revise treatment and discharge plans and communicate these with patients, parents/legal guardians, the treatment team, and direct care staff
Discuss with patients, parents/legal guardians, the treatment team, and direct care staff diagnosis, symptoms and management, recommendations, discharge plans (including conducting discharge meetings), and safety plans
Responsible for leading patient and parent groups, and communication with patients and parents/legal guardians in person (when applicable) to keep them involved in treatment plan decisions
Be oriented and education in gender, cultural differences, and age appropriate care for the assigned department.

Hours:
Monday-Friday 8:30am 5:00pm, plus one Holiday a year
Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Social Work required
Current licensure in state of Minnesota required (LGSW or LICSW)
Two years of experience in a mental health setting preferred
Experience working with children, adolescents and their families strongly preferred
Experience using electronic health records preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook
Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in written and verbal form
Ability to coordinate care with relevant staff
Ability to smoothly and rapidly shift between dissimilar tasks
Ability to react quickly and calmly as part of a team to handle volatile and potentially emergency situations
Ability to make effective decisions while in stressful situations and circumstances
After training, ability to manage disruptive and explosive patients
