Role Overview:
The hands-on Accounting Manager is ready to move into a Controller role overseeing all accounting functions for a $20 million division initially and overseeing the entire portfolio of over $200 Million. This position will also involve providing project-based support to the CFO at our headquarters and collaborating on various initiatives across the organization. This hands-on role requires strong technical expertise and offers an excellent opportunity for career growth, with the potential to step into a CFO role in the future.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
· Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, compliance with accounting principles (GAAP), and adherence to internal controls.
· Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing meaningful insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
· Collaborate with the CFO and other stakeholders on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
· Manage the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors and ensuring timely completion.
· Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
· Support the CFO in special projects, financial analysis, and process improvement initiatives across the organization.
· Stay up to date with industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred.
· Solid experience in audit, preferably with a background in public accounting.
· Proficiency in using accounting software, particularly Sage 300 (Accpac).
· Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP.
· Must have some experience with Payroll processing
· Some Audit experience a plus
· Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting.
· Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities.
· Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
· You have demonstrated leadership potential and a desire to grow into a CFO role.
