Position Summary:
The Digital Product Manager is an exciting role at Penske. This role offers the opportunity to assume a leading role in bringing Penske’s IOT data into products, services, and tools across the business to help Penske maintain a digital leadership position in the transportation industry.
Data skills and an understanding of software development processes are greatly desired; excellent communication skills and a creative, problem-solving mindset are beneficial for success in this role.
Major Responsibilities:
-Work closely with Penske data users to understand their needs and expectations
-Define the data product/service vision that addresses needs and determine stages of delivering on that vision
-Defining, validating and prioritizing the IOT data phases
-Work side-by-side with data scientists, analysts, and developers as part of a cross-functional team to define, prioritize, and deliver digital data products and services that meet the needs and goals of the business
– Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Penske and customer organizations
-Help internal and external stakeholders understand our iterative and cross-functional development approach
-Removal of team roadblocks, distractions and impediments identified by the product team
-Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
-High School diploma or equivalent required
-4 year degree or relevant years of product management experience preferred
-2 or more years of product management experience preferred
-Effective communication skills are essential as close collaboration with customers and various departments throughout the business is crucial to the success of our offering
-Previous experience working on agile development projects preferred
-Background in design and/or software development a plus
-Strong leadership and mentoring skills
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
