The Senior Director, Total Rewards will serve as a key member of the Human Resources leadership team reporting directly to the CHRO. This position is responsible for the overall design, implementation, communication and administration of the organization’s benefits and compensation programs. This position also ensures that the benefits and compensation programs support the organization’s strategic objectives and meet legal requirements.
Benefits Program Management:
Provides strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration and communication of the Company’s benefits programs including health, welfare, wellness, leaves of absence, and retirement
Establishes and manages relationships with vendors, brokers, and carriers, including monitoring service levels, costs, utilization, and other metrics to ensure a positive employee experience and value to the organization.
Works with benefit brokers to understand market trends and assess, design, and refine the Company’s benefits strategy to ensure the company is positioned competitively to attract and retain talent.
Develops strategy for communication and education about benefit programs to drive awareness and utilization.
Leads wellness strategy and initiatives in support of overall employee well-being.
Stays current and in touch with industry trends, developing concepts, practices and procedures in the benefits and wellness fields.
Ensures through audits, reports and personal contacts that the Company’s benefits programs and practices are consistently administered and compliant with company policies, and local and federal government regulations.
Leads continuous improvement of processes and procedures to drive efficiencies, reduce manual processes, and improve the employee experience.
Works with HR business partners to integrate benefits systems as necessary for new acquisitions.
Provides assistance with due diligence, analysis, recommendation and integration for mergers and acquisitions.
Compensation Program Management:
Defines and communicates overall compensation philosophy for the organization, driving education and awareness across the business.
Identifies and implements solutions that address business and market challenges and align with the organization’s compensation philosophy.
Partners with CHRO on changes in executive compensation plans, coordinating with the Board of Directors as necessary.
Partners with HR business partner teams to develop and communicate key programs to managers and employees.
Works with CHRO, CFO, and other partners to develop and prepare analyses for budget planning process.
People Management:
Encourage the growth of all direct and indirect reports through skill development and goal setting.
Hold direct reports accountable for meeting performance standards and departmental performance goals.
Mentor employees, measure performance, and complete regular performance reviews.
Resolve employee issues in an effective and consistent manner.
Qualitifcations:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
At least 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources with at least 2 years of management experience.
Experience designing and administering compensation and benefit programs
Experience selecting and managing vendor relationships
Superior communication and interpersonal skills with ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of executives.
Ability to establish strong leadership presence within the business areas and demonstrate the experience, stature and confidence to effectively address sensitive HR issues.
Excellent analytical and project management skills.
Results oriented and flexible with the ability to manage multiple projects in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
Ability to proactively recognize, plan and act on the need for innovation and improvement in processes
Thorough subject matter expertise with knowledge and understanding of accounting and financial concepts especially related to tax and accounting treatment, SEC regulations and filings, proxy disclosures, FASB, Internal Revenue Code preferred.
