We need a Global Logistics Sales Engineer to assist the sales team in accurately qualifying operations needs for both global marketplaces and DTC product offerings. This role will serve as the liaison between our sales and operations organizations, working closely with each on the operational needs for potential Pattern partners. This is a critical role at Pattern as we continue to work with world class brands and support their global operations.

What is a day in the life of a Operations Sales Engineer?

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead out in accurately qualifying operations needs for both global marketplaces and DTC product offerings for prospective Pattern brands

  • Present logistics solutions in a customer-facing setting to potential brands during the sales cycle

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for DTC fulfillment opportunities

  • Be the subject matter expert for Pattern DTC fulfillment and retail marketplace distribution fulfillment strategies (direct import, direct ship, FBM, FBA, small & light, etc…)

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on all things Pattern Global Operations for the Sales team (FBA, FBM, DI, Direct Ship, DTC)

  • Join calls with Sales Engineers, Sales Reps, and brands

  • Join bi-weekly deal desk meetings with the global sales team and actively chase down any action items related to global fulfillment and logistics

  • Price out DTC fulfillment requests

  • Improve pricing/costs for non-traditional shipping methods globally

  • Document and inform Operations on upcoming operational requirements outside of the core offering to ensure smooth onboarding for new brands

  • Refine the “strike-zone” for the sales team on how we can land more deals while maintaining the financial health of the business

What will I need to thrive in this role?

  • 3-5 years experience in Operations – preferably working in eCommerce at a brand or working for a marketplace (e.g. eBay, Amazon, etc.)

  • Deep understanding of operations and pricing models

  • Experience on the front lines of operations and a technical operator 

  • Understanding of key success metrics for a successful supply chain strategy

  • Ability to translate data into insights and effectively communicate them with senior stakeholders

  • Analytical – experienced with Excel/Google Sheets and building presentations to communicate with executives

  • Understanding of the context and pain points of various accounts to tailor messaging, decks, etc. to meet those needs

  • Works efficiently cross-functionally; builds relationships and leverages expertise of various departments to build better business cases and/or reinforce Pattern capabilities

  • Has a solid grasp on industry stats/Pattern proof points and process qualitative/quantitative data to create value for potential partners and stays up-to-speed on industry trends and Pattern capabilities to drive value for brands
