Position: Chief Executive Officer

Primary Work Site: Administrative Office, Toledo, Ohio
Salary: Approximately $115,000 depending on qualifications
Pathway, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission to reduce poverty by providing comprehensive services that create pathways to self-sufficiency. The agency employs approximately 75 people and administers federal, state, and local programs to advance its mission.
Supervisory Controls
Incumbent of this position works under administrative and functional supervision of the Board of Trustees, who provides general instructions on what is to be done. The employee is expected to perform routine assignments independently. New and/or special assignments are given with detailed instructions. Unusual situations are referred to the supervisor for resolution. Work is reviewed through observation and written reports. Performance is evaluated in terms of adherence to professional and agency policies, procedures, and established guidelines.

Ensure the development, oversight and application of the Agency mission, policies, goals and objectives in the areas of finance, personnel, programs, services, community relations and facility maintenance. Ensures compliance with applicable local, state, and federal standards.

Skills And Qualifications
Master’s degree in social services or a related field required (Ph.D preferred/desirable). Minimum of seven (7) of relevant management experience within a publicly funded agency or related field with progressive levels of responsibility. Minimum of three (3) years experience supervising a major department, division, or agency or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must be proficient and the have the ability to operate personal computer.
Knowledge of agency mission, goals, objectives, policies and procedures; federal and state standards and regulations governing the administration and operation of the Agency’s programs, services, and departments; auditing requirements; non-profit structure and processes; budget development and administration; cost analysis methods; strategic planning; quality assurance goals, policies and procedures; funding sources; grant application and administration; basic state and federal employment rules and regulations; community demographics, resources and relations; crisis intervention techniques; supervisory methods and practices; and employee training and development methods.
Skills in public relations and communications (i.e., public speaking and presentations). Must be a systems thinker with the ability to see larger structures and pattern in processes of groups and organizations.
Ability to identify future needs and opportunities of the Agency and develop plans to meet them; identify and use grant resources; allocate funds based upon availability and need; demonstrate strategic analysis and planning; demonstrate fiscal responsibility and utilization control methods; interpret and apply rules, regulations, and standards; define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; handle routine and sensitive inquires; prepare accurate and complete reports; resolve problems involving several collaborate effectively in written and oral form; present a professional image to the public; collaborate effectively with other community agencies; maintain confidentiality; maintain a positive work environment for employees; ensure the quality of work as measured against established standards; and develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Trustees, division Directors and staff.
Will sometimes be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays and respond to crises. Required travel to Agency facilities and community locations. Occasionally, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods of time, and lift up to thirty (30) pounds may be required. Overnight travel will be required, encountering the normal and sometimes hazardous driving and weather conditions. Valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance required. Driving record must meet Agency standards.
