Here at Otter Creek we host varying types of clientele. During our fall/winter season we provide hearty, high end meals three times a day to our upland bird hunters. In the summer months we host weddings and wine dinners. Soon, our distillery will be operating, and we will be doing tapas style dinning and bourbon pairings.
We are currently hiring a sous chef for our hunting season, and for a qualified candidate this will lead to full time, year round work. During the 2022-2023 hunting season the Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef with all kitchen operations. The sous chef will be lead on most breakfast services and will need to execute at least one full day of meals and prep. Typically your days will run 5AM-3PM, with one longer day, and one day off per week. Along with cooking, duties may include heavy lifting, stocking wood for our pizza oven, deep cleaning, changing fryer grease, helping with herb and vegetable gardens, and maintaining outdoor grills.
We average around 16 people per meal, but our lunches can be up to 25 due to overlap of groups.
Room and Board is provided to all kitchen employees. The room consists of a bedroom with a mini fridge, a large closet, and a bathroom. We have recently added a staff lounge where employees can cook a meal, do laundry, or hang out and watch TV. Staff housing also has a large fenced in yard if you’d like to bring your dog. We have lots of hunting dogs around the property, so if you’re a dog lover you are in luck.
