Join us as we celebrate our 31st season running some of Washington’s most exciting whitewater. Osprey Rafting Co. offers a variety of outdoor river expeditions. From exciting class IV rafting trips to scenic family floats, we offer tubing, stand up paddle boarding, and inflatable kayaking.
Employee Experience
At Osprey, we pride ourselves on continuous training and guide development. We host a guide school at the cost of $650. We do not make money from this fee, and instead use this money to provide students with all necessary training and personal equipment needed to safely run our trips. Washington state law requires a 50-hour guide course to qualify for licensing. Upon completion of our course, guides will receive their own personal helmet, whistle, PFD, throw bag, medical kit, dry bag, river knife, and wet suit that will be theirs to keep.
Our guide school curriculum is as follows:
Employee Perks
Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for dedicated individuals with a passion for the great outdoors and a growth mindset. We are tasked daily with ensuring the safety of our guests and team members alike. You will be required to demonstrate a high level of professionalism in a sometimes-stressful environment. Throughout the season, candidates are responsible for maintaining their physical fitness and self-care, as our days can be long and physically challenging. Candidates are also expected to be on time and ready to work in a variety of different weather conditions.
For Fun
Guides typically have a couple of consecutive days off a week to plan personal trips. There is easy access to Alpine Lakes Wilderness, from any of our 47 trailheads. Hike our 600-mile trail system to over 700 different alpine lakes. If you’re looking for an adventure in the culinary arts, head to Leavenworth and enjoy over fifty different bars and restaurants. Getting Here and Getting Around
The Bavarian village of Leavenworth, Washington is located about 2.5 hours east of Seattle and surrounded by public lands. It’s the gateway to Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area and a major resupply point on the Pacific Crest Trail. Reliable transportation is required.
Room and Board
At Osprey rafting, we run and train on several different rivers. We have three campgrounds within ten miles of our outpost, and two RV parks in close proximity. We know that housing can be difficult, so we compensate our guides by paying approximately $40 more per day compared to other companies in the area. In the latter half of the season, we move our operation to the Tieton River, where guides are allowed to camp on-site for free.
The links below will direct you to more information about developed campgrounds, dispersed camping, RV parks, and overnight parking in the area.
