The Medical Director of Patient Experience participates as a key member of the organization’s Leadership Team to develop and maintain strategic planning associated with patient experience. This role advises the Chief Medical Officer in organizational development of and maintenance of integrated experience initiatives and operational alignment. The System Medical Director promotes and fosters an atmosphere of compassion, teamwork, excellence, and patients first across all areas and disciplines within the organization. This physician overseas all coaching, education, and training of physicians and advanced practice providers and their support teams, as it relates to improving the patient experience, and partners with physician leaders and senior leaders for effective tactic execution.
This job is responsible for the medical direction of the strategic vision, long-term planning, and overall accountability for the Patient Experience and Patient & Provider Advocacy Departments across Ochsner Health System in dyad partnership with the Vice President of Patient Experience and Service Excellence. Physician leader supports all activities related to the operations of these departments, provides medical direction to teams in support of Ochsner’s strategic initiatives, and delivers tactical initiatives specific to Experience and Advocacy. Meets regularly with key internal customers across the organizations to address issues and concerns in a timely manner and provides coaching and support to drive key initiatives. Assumes responsibility for medical focus of strategic planning and the development of system goals and objectives for Patient Experience.

Education
Required – Clinical Medical Degree or equivalent (MD, DO, DPM, OD, PhD)
Preferred – Master’s degree in Healthcare, Business Administration or related field
Work Experience
Required – 10 years clinical experience
Preferred – Prior physician leadership experience
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
