Position Summary:

Serves as the key strategist to shape and drive growth, customer engagement, and client service delivery for our Department of Defense (DoD) business area. The position will be in charge of leveraging our capabilities to deliver solutions for DoD customers. The Business Area Director will execute and lead growth strategies and initiatives to achieve the business area’s revenue and profitability goals and is responsible for client service delivery across the business area’s portfolio. The Business Area Director will implement reliable business development and capture processes consistent with the Company’s business strategy, values, and operating principles. In addition, the Business Area Director will oversee Talent Acquisition and be responsible for integrating growth initiatives for the business area. This position will also manage staff across the business area and work closely with other Area leads, enterprise services, and business development to deliver high-value solutions to new and existing customers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Engagement & Service Delivery:

• Apprise senior management on productivity and quality assurance of the business area’s team via informal and formal updates.
• Work with the business area Program Managers to ensure all client schedules/requirements/deliverables are implemented within the relevant time constraints.
• Provide organization, direction, coordination, planning, and production of all business area activities and resource needs.
• Identify and communicate issues or risks to company leadership and offer recommendations on how issues or risks should be mitigated to satisfy the requirements successfully.
• When called upon, notify the Government Representatives when any Government activity may impact performance, schedule, or cost.
• Provide overall business area portfolio management, ensuring all deliverables and staff are operating at peak efficiency and performance.
• Conduct bi-annual meetings with COR and Government representatives to review: the status of deliverables, goals, and milestones; address problems encountered; and revise major milestones when needed.

Talent Acquisition & Development:

• Ensure personnel obtains and maintains all required certifications and training under the business area customer portfolio.
• Oversee onboarding of business area staff, conducting an introduction to the Oasys culture and customer environment while setting clear expectations, goals, and objectives.
• Manage and grow the team, including selection, performance management, and ongoing career development across the business area.

Pipeline Development & Growth:

• Demonstrate accountability for achieving business area growth and revenue objectives set by executive management.
• Lead new business development opportunities for the business area.
• Responsible for coordinating with business area Program Managers to ensure all contract recompetes are planned for, resourced, and appropriately staffed.
• Understand, support, and position the breadth and depth of services and capabilities offered by Oasys, our joint ventures, and our strategic partners.
• Provide management and support of proposal activities.
• Coordinate the effort of teaming partners, subcontractors, and vendors.

P&L:

• Provide monthly status reports (MSR) on the financial health of the business area to executive management.
• Run and report on day-to-day business area operations to include revenue, operating margin, staff utilization, sales enablement, headcount, and investment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Knowledge and customer experience in the Federal Government, with Department of Defense agencies.
• Self-motivated and driven leader with a sense of urgency to stay in front of strategic opportunities.
• Possess strong customer engagement and exceptional written/verbal communications and presentation skills.
• Ability to produce measurable results and manage without direct authority.
• Ability to analyze budgetary information and assess organizational capacity.
• Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to develop and manage productive relationships with customers, consultants, partners, and staff at all levels. Excellent listening skills.
• Must have specific knowledge and understanding of federal contracting.
• Strong organizational/time management skills.
• Proven experience leading teams, including those of subcontractors.
• Capable of leading a geographically dispersed (teleworking and remote members) team.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired.
• 10 years of experience working within the U.S Federal contracting sector.
• Five (5) years of combined experience in DoD, preferably with the U.S. Air Force, Army, Space Force, or Combatant Commands.
• Five (5) years of experience in program management of a significant contract.

Preferred Certifications/Skills:

• Project or Program Management certification (i.e., Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other equivalent/recognized Project or Program Management certification)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to organize, tabulate, analyze, and present information in written and briefing presentations.
• Experience using GovWin, SAM.gov, USAspending, FPDS, etc.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Work Location:

• Fairfax, VA (Remote in the Washington DC area is acceptable)
