Job Description As a part of the Creative Merchandising Team
A day in the life
- Participate & contribute to the long-term creative strategy & vision for the Culture & Trend office in line with JWN strategy, priorities, and goals.
- Support cultural research incorporating deep exploration of the impact of sociopolitical, technological, creative, economic, and environmental shifts.
- Support cultural trend analysis to draw connections from cultural shifts to trends in art, design, lifestyle, fashion, and retail.
- Support fashion research including broad visual exploration across runway, magazine editorials, social media, and retail.
- Support fashion trend analysis to forecast incoming product trends across women’s and men’s apparel and accessories apparel and accessories.
- Approach research and analysis with a passionate curiosity for culture and fashion and with a proactive approach to identify white space opportunities.
- Integrate cultural and consumer insights at inception of fashion trend research.
- Utilize industry data points and provided resources to develop trend analysis and forecast how it will impact the business.
- Build research reference library across culture and fashion, and continuously grow industry/market knowledge.
- Organize project workflow, calendar, meetings, processes, & standards for assigned deliverables.
- Contribute to the production of world-class deliverables with high design standards, descriptive and direct copy, and clear content presentation.
You own this if you have
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Marketing, Design, Fashion, or related degree preferred.
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for fashion and beauty, including runway, magazines, social media, and the business.
- 2+ years experience working in marketing, trend, or fashion related industry.
- Proficiency using Keynote, Powerpoint, InDesign and Photoshop.
- Clear communication and share point of view openly.
- Deliver exemplary internal customer service through strong ownership and professionalism.
- Demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through relationship building and collaboration.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, and success in driving towards a deadline.
