Unit Clerk – Behavioral Health – 11N

Provide compassionate patient focus and superior customer service – keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly. Coordinate the activities at the psychiatric Emergency Room, 11N unit and Extended Observation Unit to ensure the timely, efficient and accurate flow of patient information. Responsible for legal documents and court scheduling appointments. Page clinical and non-clinical staff and answer phones on your unit. Maintain inventories and sign for important medical deliveries.

Cultivate a courteous and respectful demeanor while multitasking between people and responsibilities.

This full time position works, Monday through Friday 7:30 am – 4:00pm and rotating weekends shift at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell campus.

Preferred Criteria:

• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products
• Outstanding Customer Service skills

Required Criteria:

• One year of clerical and computer keyboard experience
• Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with staff, patients, and visitors
• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
