Sr. Software Engineer – Java, New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., Houston, TX. Design and code Java-based application modules. Participate in architectural and code review discussions to ensure design and coding standards are followed. Review code to identify and resolve defects. Comply with DevOps and Global information Security guidelines when developing and deploying applications. Manage environments using DevOps tools. Resolve performance or complex integration test related issues on trading and clearing systems. Manage individual and team priorities and deadlines and escalate risks or bottlenecks in an AGILE setting. Revise the status of all user stories and update technical documentation.
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or a related occupation.
Must have five (5) years of experience with/in the following:
· Java software development in the finance industry;
· Using Java programming languages to perform concurrent programming concepts, lock-free algorithms, Just-in-time compilation/code path optimization, JNI, NIO and Off-heap memory management;
· Designing high throughput, high availability and fault tolerant applications;
· Using Tibco to work in message-oriented architecture;
· Bash, Shell or Python scripting on Unix/Linus based environments;
· Front end frameworks such as React, Angular or JQuery; and
· SQL, NO SQL Mongo DB and database modeling.
