Summary You will serve as an Assistant to the Deputy Department Head and Senior Department personnel in the STRATEGIC & COMPUTING SYSTEMS DEPT for NAVSURFWARCENDLD. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NG-02 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-05 and GS-06. The NG-03 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-07 and GS-08. Responsibilities You will provide executive level leadership and administrative support to the Department Head, Deputy Department Head, and senior staff personnel. You will direct the day-to-day department office operations. You will manage Department Head/Deputy Head calendars. You will lead lower-level secretarial/clerical personnel. You will review documents for conformance to policies and correspondence regulations. You will serve as a department time and attendance administrator. You will make travel arrangements and prepare travel claims as requested. You will develop and implement instructions and guidance to subordinate secretaries on administrative policies and procedures, correspondence requirements, travel and timekeeping policies You will maintain control records on incoming correspondence, actions items, and Command databases. You will proactively ensure all data calls are addressed in a timely manner. You will lead the coordination of VIP meetings with sponsors and stakeholders as requested. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the NG-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NG-02 (GS-05/06 equivalency) or grade level in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing executive-level administrative/clerical support functions in an corporate business office setting (e.g., 1- Preparing and editing correspondence by use of office automation software systems; 2- Utilizing an automated timekeeping tracking system; and 3- Assisting with automated travel system services for official business travel). For the NG-02: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band NG-01 (GS-04 equivalency) or grade level in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing general office administrative/clerical support in a corporate business office setting.
