*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
General:
* Assists in the administration of various human resources initiatives for all company personnel in HRIS system; assists in implementation of HR policies and procedures including employee handbook and employee communications.
* Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; and training and development.
* Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
* Handles employee relations investigations/ counseling and conducts exit interviews.
* Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
* Conducts first level investigations into employee complaints.
Recruiting:
* Support the Talent Acquisition Specialist for recruiting, onboarding, and pre-employment requirements.
* Develop recruitment programs to attract applicants for diverse of job openings.
* Develop and maintains network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.
* Create and oversee the internal job posting program.
* Support job advertising in various media.
* Work with recruiting sources (outside recruiters, employment agencies, web-based recruiting services, job fairs, etc.) to identify and recruit candidates.
* Support local recruiting and outreach efforts to meet or exceed recruiting targets.
* Schedule and interview candidates as well as provide feedback to candidates.
* Perform reference and background checks on applicants.
* Set up new employees in the HRIS system.
Orientation/Separation Activities:
* Plan and conduct new hire orientation and employment engagement programs to foster positive attitude toward employee’s position, the company and business goals.
* Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Training:
* In conjunction with HR Manager, prepare and facilitate training on employment laws, employee relations, company policies and procedures and other HR related topics.
* Conduct one on one computer training with employees as needed to inform them of changes in HR policies and procedures.
Other HR Activities:
* Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
* Serve as back-up EEO specialist by maintaining the affirmative action plan, metrics and outreach efforts.
* Track HR Metrics such as time-to-fill, cost of hire, recruiting source and total cost.
* Review and approve tuition reimbursement for employees.
* Work with HR Manager on Immigration issues such as Visa requests and renewals.
* Create and update job descriptions to ensure employees are compensated fairly.
* Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail along with excellent organization and follow-up abilities are required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Human Resources or Business Management from 4-year College or university and 3-5 years related experience in human resources functions and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification preferred. Experience with Paycom payroll software preferred. Computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; Strong knowledge of Employment Law.

LANGUAGE SKILLS*
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS*
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

OTHER SKILLS*
* Verifiable knowledge of employment laws and wage and hour regulations
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
* Experience with Paycom or similar HR/Payroll Software
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.

REASONING ABILITY*
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
