The Department of Teacher Education and Certification is
seeking a tenure-track assistant professor in early childhood education to start in August 2023.

The
department offers early childhood, elementary, and middle school emphasis areas for the Bachelor of Science in Education. The department
includes the S&T Child Development Center, which opened in January 2022, the Kummer Center for STEM Education, which provides outreach
programming to K-12 students, and the South Central Regional Professional Development Center, which offers teacher training to the region.
This educational ecosystem provides rich opportunities for research and collaboration.
The successful candidate will engage in
research and grant-supported activity in early childhood education. In addition the candidate will teach early childhood courses, advise
students in the program, and supervise field experiences. Faculty are expected to participate in department and university service as well
as contribute to recruitment activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Earned doctorate in early childhood education
or child development
Three years experience in an early childhood setting
Early childhood or related teaching credential
Evidence
of effective teaching at the undergraduate level
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with NAEYC or other
accreditation for early childhood centers
Successful grant writing experience
Experience facilitating teacher professional
development
