This position provides supervision of Visiting Application Unit (VAU) staff. The position works independently assigning and controlling workflow and establishing procedures for processing of visiting applications for all agency correctional facilities. Responsibilities include supervision and training of VAU staff regarding the visiting application process including BCA background checks, ensuring data practices are followed with regard to confidential data, ensuring applications are processed in an accurate and timely manner and ensure professional communications occur when staff are dealing with the public, incarcerated populations, agency employees and criminal justice involved professionals.

Additional Requirements
The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
