GENERAL PURPOSE
Initiates and implements a full spectrum of human resource (HR) services directly to global functions within Operations. While acting in a lead capacity, provides consultation to executives, individual managers, client groups, or associates in areas including: pay administration, talent management, performance management, leadership and employee development, talent acquisition, organizational change and employee relations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Acts and thinks independently as a highly knowledgeable human resources professional that approaches management and employee issues as a fully accountable business partner.
Acts as a consultant and business partner to executives, client groups, managers, and employees by understanding their unique needs and business objectives and providing advice and counsel on human resource programs and practices in support of those objectives.
Coordinates and delivers learning and development activities as required, building competence and workplace performance.
Evaluates and diagnoses human resource related issues that impact the effectiveness of the client group; identifies and implements creative solutions for specific organizational issues that affect the client group.
Partners closely with the rest of the HR team to support cross group initiatives and manages/leads special HR project initiatives.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Provides counsel and guidance to executives and management on complex employee relations issues, independently conducts investigations and ensures compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
Serves as mentor/coach to HR Consultants, MillerKnoll managers and employees.

Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or other closely related field, or at least 10 years of work experience. Master’s degree preferred.
7 years progressive responsibility in a professional HR generalist role with at least two years in a leadership capacity and a proven track record of positive interaction and established credibility with senior level management.
Demonstrated expertise in HR communications, change and performance management, organizational design, talent development, talent acquisition and retention, compensation and employee / labor relations, and HR related statutory and regulatory environment.
Strong critical thinking skills and ability to analyze complex situations and related data to determine appropriate actions.
Ability to act as a highly effective negotiator with strong persuasion abilities and customer service skills while exhibiting an approachable work style; working exceptionally well with and respecting individuals at all levels of the organization.
Must possess excellent diplomacy and judgment when handling routine as well as emotionally charged situations.
Ability to manage complex projects successfully through application of strong managerial and business skills.
Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor others and support professional client groups.
Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software and tools currently used in the Herman Miller office environment.
Demonstrated ability to support global functions and partner with multi-region business leaders.
Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodation.
