The Sr Security Officer is responsible for overseeing and directing day-to-day work of security personnel. Responsible for enforcement of all policies, rules, and regulations pertaining to the effective and consistent maintenance and enforcement of all policies, rules and regulations pertaining to the security of team members, patients and students, public, etc., buildings, grounds, and traffic at facility during designated shift of duty.
Responsibilities
1. Directs and oversees security officers in the performance of their duties
2. Performs the staffing and scheduling of security personnel.
3. Reviews daily activity log and submission of all computer-based reports at the end of the shift, and security incident reports.
4. Investigates and documents all Security Incidents occurring on the shift.
5. Respond to fire drills and perform fire watches; facilitate fire department inspections scheduled by regional safety function
6. Responds to calls and codes for security including all plain language Emergency Codes and ensures that security personnel carry out their specific duties and responsibilities.
7. Investigates all incidents of stolen property occurring on HMH property during the shift, takes action to locate, completes and submits all reports through proper channels
8. Subject to all weather conditions; will be required to work in all areas of the Medical Center, including parking lots, grounds and outer buildings as requested.
9. Will be required to perform duties as assigned by Security Leadership and execute physical security component of emergency management plan upon occurrence of an emergency
10. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
11. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
2. Minimum of 3 years experience as a hospital security or in law enforcement.
3. Must be able to stand and walk for a long period of time, 8-12 hrs a day. Lift a minimum of 100 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 100 lbs. Ability to ascend/descend 2-10 flight stairs. Ability to handle disorderly and/or abusive patients and visitors. This will include behavioral patients and patients brought into the Emergency Trauma Department under arrest.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
1. Knowledge of security, traffic regulations and procedures.
2. Documented Security Supervisory training.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. Possession of a valid driver¿s license.
2. Full scale State, County, Federal, and License Check will be conducted every other year. Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
