The Radiological Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, is committed to applying the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation, in the area of mammography. Responsibilities include direct patient care provided in a compassionate and timely manner. Responsibilities also include driving the Mobile Mammography van to and from places where our patients work and live. Once on site, this person will also be responsible for collecting information and registering patients for their appointments.

Job Knowledge:

Demonstrates high skill level in imaging guidelines, operation of equipment, sterile technique, polices and procedures, and the mobile mammography tasks.
Quality: Produce and evaluate quality images, while adhering to radiation safety standards. Maintain the highest standard of patient care,
Clerical Duties: Meeting and greeting customers, obtaining demographic information and completing the registration process.
Performance Improvement & Continuing Education: Participates in continuing education to maintain professional rating and demonstrates knowledge and participates in performance improvement goals.
Operates hospital vehicle to transport Mammography Technologists and equipment to various sites in a safe manner, adhering to Mercy Health policies and DOT regulations.
Completes daily pre check and post check maintenance checklist to ensure van and equipment are in working order. Reports any malfunction of the vehicle to Marketing Specialist
Gases vehicle on specified days of the week, maintains cleanliness of van and stocks supplies when necessary. ABN when necessary

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Required Minimum Education: 2year/ Associates Degree

Specialty/Major: Applied Sciences

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS (must be non-expired/active unless otherwise stated):

Required: Registered by the ARRT, for both Radiological Technologists and Mammography. Current Radiation Operator License from the Ohio and Kentucky Department of Health. CPR for health care. Must obtain CDL B drivers license within the first 12 months in this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in Mammography preferred.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 3D Mammography and stereotactic biopsy knowledge would be preferred. Graduates of accredited school of Radiology Technology may be accepted in lieu of a 2 year degree.
