Day Shift House Supervisor/PCU
GENERAL SUMMARY
The House Supervisor is responsible for administration and operational activities on weekends, evenings, and night shifts. The supervisor serves as a clinical resource to direct care staff. Assumes responsibility and authority as delegated by the Care Coordination Manager/Chief Nurse Officer. Assists in the provision of care to patients of all age groups.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
1. Education
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, Bachelors degree in nursing preferred, or must be obtained within 3 years.
2. Experience
Five years of acute care nursing experience preferred. Previous supervisory or management experience desired.
3. Knowledge and Abilities
A. Interpersonal skills sufficient to provide effective leadership
B. Effective problem resolution capabilities; able to be decisive and deal equitable in all situations.
C. Able to make effective use of resources.
4. Registration, Certification, or Licensure Requirement
Current Ohio RN Licensure; Basic Life Support Certification
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Exposure to potentially bio-hazardous agents requiring strict adherence to standard precautions.
2. Prolonged walking.
3. Dealing with high-pressure situations related to administrative and clinical oversight of all hospital operations.
4. Effectively handles stress and anxiety.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY
The House Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the delivery of patient care in all clinical nursing units as well as for the administrative oversight of all areas of the hospital in the absence of on-site management.
